Terms and Conditions
These Terms apply when you use taskman.london, request a quote, book a service, message TaskMan of London, or accept work from us.
1. Who We Are
TaskMan of London is operated by Razvan Patrascioiu, trading as TaskMan of London.
2. Services
TaskMan of London provides and arranges handyman and home services in London, including furniture assembly, wall mounting, repairs, electrical tasks, smart home installation, carpentry, painting and decorating, and related home services.
Some work may be performed by TaskMan employees, subcontractors, or independent professionals selected by TaskMan. Regulated work will only be accepted where the assigned professional has the required competence, registration, or permissions.
3. Quotes, Estimates and Bookings
Quotes are based on the information you provide, including photos, item details, wall type, access, parking, timing, and any special requirements. If the actual job differs from the information provided, the price, timing, materials, or scope may need to change.
A booking is confirmed only when TaskMan accepts it and any required deposit or payment step has been completed.
4. Prices, Deposits and Payment
Where a fixed price is agreed, that price covers the agreed scope only. Where hourly or time-based pricing applies, TaskMan will explain the rate before the work starts. Published examples may include a £100 booking deposit and £15 per 15 minutes after the first hour, but the confirmed quote or booking message controls your job.
Deposits secure appointment time and are normally deducted from the final bill. If you cancel late, fail to provide access, or materially change the job at the appointment, TaskMan may retain some or all of the deposit to cover reserved time, travel, administration, or costs already incurred, unless mandatory consumer rights require otherwise.
Payment is due when requested by TaskMan, usually when the work is completed or at the booking stage for deposits or materials. Materials and parts supplied by TaskMan remain TaskMan property until paid for in full.
5. Your Responsibilities
You must provide accurate job information, safe access, working utilities where needed, parking or access instructions, permission from the property owner or managing agent where required, and a safe working environment.
You are responsible for confirming that walls, surfaces, furniture, appliances, or supplied parts are suitable for the requested work unless TaskMan has expressly agreed to inspect and advise on that suitability.
6. Access, Safety and Delays
TaskMan may refuse, pause, or reschedule work if access is not available, the area is unsafe, hidden risks are discovered, required parts are missing, or the job is materially different from the agreed scope.
Arrival windows are estimates. TaskMan will try to keep you updated if travel, traffic, previous jobs, emergencies, or supplier delays affect timing.
7. Cancellations, Rescheduling and Cooling-Off Rights
Please give at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellation, missed appointments, or lack of access may result in charges or loss of deposit.
If you are a UK consumer and a legal cooling-off right applies to your booking, you may have 14 days to cancel from the date the contract is formed. If you ask TaskMan to start work before the end of that period, you agree that TaskMan may begin providing the service and that you may need to pay for work, travel, materials, or costs already supplied before cancellation. If the service has been fully performed with your agreement, your right to cancel that service may end.
This section does not limit any statutory rights that cannot legally be limited.
8. Workmanship Warranty
Where TaskMan advertises or confirms a workmanship warranty, it applies to defects in TaskMan workmanship for the stated period, usually 12 months. It does not cover normal wear and tear, misuse, customer-supplied parts, defective products, existing or hidden property defects, damage by third parties, works altered by others, or issues TaskMan warned you about before or during the job.
You must tell TaskMan promptly if you believe there is a workmanship issue and give TaskMan a reasonable opportunity to inspect and put it right.
9. Materials and Customer-Supplied Items
If you supply items, furniture, brackets, parts, fixings, or appliances, you are responsible for making sure they are complete, suitable, safe, and available at the appointment. TaskMan is not responsible for manufacturer defects, missing parts, inaccurate instructions, or unsuitable customer-supplied products.
If TaskMan supplies materials, the cost and any handling or collection charges will be explained where practical.
10. Liability
TaskMan is responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of breach of these Terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill. TaskMan is not responsible for losses caused by inaccurate information from you, pre-existing defects, hidden property issues, customer-supplied products, events outside TaskMan's reasonable control, or business losses unless expressly agreed in writing.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
11. Messaging, SMS and RCS
TaskMan may contact you by phone, email, SMS, WhatsApp, RCS, or similar messaging channels about quotes, bookings, appointment reminders, job updates, support, payments, reviews, and service follow-up.
Marketing messages are only sent where you have opted in or where the law allows. You can opt out of SMS or RCS marketing at any time by replying STOP. Reply HELP for support where supported by the messaging channel. TaskMan does not sell, rent, or share SMS/RCS opt-in consent or phone numbers with third parties for their marketing purposes.
